We’re more than halfway through the year and still, we’re feeling the effects of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic. It’s been a tough year, to say the least!
But did you know that romantic relationships, in general, are actually doing well during this pandemic?
In a recent poll conducted at Monmouth University in New Jersey, it was found that 59 percent of couples, married or partnered, are extremely satisfied with their relationship during the chaos, and 33 percent are very satisfied.
According to Gary Lewandowski, a professor of psychology at the university, said:
“It isn’t surprising that so many people are satisfied in their relationship. Our relationships are a key source of stability, and when the world feels uncertain, having your partner there to be your rock is assuring.”
So, while there are millions of individuals who are going through an immensely rough time right now, we thought we’d try to highlight some of the positive things you could do with your partner during this period of isolation slash limited lifestyle.
So whether you’re living with your significant other, or you are apart, here are 6 fun date night ideas that can help you to keep the spark alive, and further your romantic bond.
Living with Your Partner?
1. Spice it Up!
When it comes to intimacy and erotica, the possibilities are seemingly endless! And the good news is, the majority of online pleasure product stores are still open! That means that you could order a little treat either for yourself (so that your partner can watch!), or for the both of you to enhance your trysts!
We absolutely adore the new WeVibe Chorus for couples (you can even enjoy it whilst apart using the WeVibe app!), the new LELO Soraya Wave rabbit vibrator, and LELO’s super-advanced F1s Developers Kit masturbator for men.
Alternatively, you could create your own at-home strip club! Stock up on some $1 bills (or whatever your currency), real or fake, and take turns to wow your partner in some sexy lingerie or even an old Halloween costume that’s gorgeously slutty.
2. Build a Fort
Blissfully child-like, for some good, clean fun, why not build a fort in your living room or bedroom? Grab whatever you like, such as chairs, blankets, pillows, tables etc. and create your own little adventure!
Once built, you can play board games inside, bring your laptop and watch a film, eat snacks, or even enjoy a bit of sexy play!
3. Quarantini Time!
Have you heard? The Quarantini is the new black! That is, a cocktail enjoyed during quarantine!
- 30 ml Cointreau
- 30 ml Cranberry Juice
- 45 ml Gin
- 15 ml Apple Juice
- Top up Champagne
And what pairs excellently with a night of drinks? A club!
Sure, you can’t actually go to one! But there are tons of artists who have started live streaming their sets online! Do a bit of research and find some tunes you love, mix up a stunning quarantini, and dance the night away at home!
Going Long Distance with Your Partner?
4. Dine Together, While Apart
You may not be able to physically go out for a meal together, or even stay in and cook or order in, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still dine together!
You could choose a chain restaurant, if possible, and eat from the same menu whilst enjoying a drink over video chat.
Alternatively, you could cook together using your camera, taking time to talk about the recipe and creating the dish together. Later, you can enjoy it whilst continuing to chat.
5. Think Ahead
To keep the momentum going, you could think about future dates in the meantime. The pandemic, while lingering, will eventually simmer, and when you’re able to go out and live your best life again, you’ll have a list of fun date ideas to enjoy!
It can be anything from making plans to travel, going somewhere local for the weekend, or visiting a few places that excite you. By talking about the things you love and want to do, you’re getting to know each other more, and can have a list of experiences you’d like to share with one another.
6. Movie Night
Do you and your partner have a ritual of watching the latest episode of something once a week? Or maybe you two are dying to see a film that’s just been released? Now, you don’t even need to be in the same location to enjoy a movie night or a binge-watching session together.
Netflix, for example, has Netflix Party, so that you can still enjoy movie or tv show night with the one you’re missing.
Without taking away from the severity of the pandemic, it is the perfect opportunity to come up with and enjoy new and exciting experiences, or to try your hand at a new hobby. Use the time as positively as you can, and you’ll come out of it a new and improved individual and/or couple.
